Lecture on Armenia – A.Y.F. Camp Hayastan, Franklin, MA

On Wednesday evening, July 9, 2003 SCACRD member Joseph Dagdigian gave a presentation “A View of Armenia and Some Armenians” to the campers and staff at Camp Hayastan in Franklin, Massachusetts.

Some 90 campers plus staff members attended. Dagdigian’s talk consisted of a visual presentation of a trip from Yerevan to Meghri in southern Armenia, then to Goris and Karabagh, returning to Armenia via a northern route to Vardenis. The trip takes the attendees back to Yerevan and to Mt. Aragats.

Some historical and archeological sites were visited in Armenia and Karabagh. But the focus was on a number of dedicated Armenians who are working to rebuild Armenia. The trip concluded with a visit to CRD’s facilities at the Nor Ambert and Aragats research stations on Mt. Aragats, and a non-technical description of CRD’s character and research together with its importance to both Armenia and to world science.
