ANAHID YEREMIAN,
Particle Accelerator Physicist at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center.

Join us for an exciting and unusual evening. Armenia ’s Cosmic Ray Division (CRD), based on two research stations on Mt Aragats, puts the country among the top 5 in the world in work on cosmic rays, high-energy physics, solar phenomena and space weather. CRD has won the UN’s World Summit on Information Society Award for best e-science project out of 800 entries from 136 nations. The Solar Extreme Events (SEE-05) conference organised by the CRD in September 2005 drew over 85 scientists to Armenia.

Anahid Yeremian will give an illustrated layman’s presentation on the work of these dedicated scientists. She is the Chair of the Support Committee for Armenia ’s CRD while continuing her own distinguished work. A graduate of Drexel University , she has worked at the Stanford University since 1990 on leading edge accelerator designs. She will bring latest news from the CRD and the SEE-05 conference in Armenia.
